Father and son

From dailyexcelsior.com and tribuneindia.com

In the afternoon today, unidentified gunmen appeared in an apple orchard near Indergam and they fired upon one Abdul Ahad Chopan S/o Abdullah Chopan R/o Yatipora, Pattan, killing him on spot. Unconfirmed reports said that Chopan had earlier worked with a counter-insurgent organisation.

Please note that dailyexcelsior.com, of Aug 28, 2001, had the following:

At Peth-Kanihama bridge in the same area {Magam} today, two militants intercepted Ghulam Mohammad Chopan S/O Abdul Ahad Chopan of Sanoorkalipora and shot him dead. Chopan was working as a cook with IRP 6th Bn which is a part of SOG Pattan. He was returning to duty alongwith a former militant, namely Yunis, when militants captured him and shot him dead. They did not harm his associate and later escaped on his Honda motorcycle.

I think it is the same family. The father, killed today, was a cook for the Indian Reserve Police; the jihadis killed his son in 2001.

Some civilians were gathering firewood in the forests of Quil Muqam area of Bandipore last evening, when they stumbled across an abandoned IED, which exploded, killing two persons. Two more civilians sustained injuries. They were rushed to Srinagar and admitted to a hospital for treatment. Two youth killed in the explosion have been identified as Irshad Gujjar S/o Mohammad Yaqoob and Majeed Gujjar S/o Ghulam Ali, residents of Quil Muqam, Bandipore.
